Services

  • Chats N Apps provides NDIS-funded disability support across South Australia, including community access and daily living support, alongside Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). These supports are integrated to provide consistent, communication-focused care for NDIS participants.

Our approach brings support work and communication together, focusing on functional communication, participation, and capacity building in everyday environments, including home, and community settings.

All services are guided by individual participant goals and NDIS plans, and are designed to compliment not replace, existing allied health and clinical supports.

Availability is currently offered after school hours on weekdays and across some Wednesdays, with additional flexibility available during school holiday periods where possible.

  • Chats N Apps provides individualised support to help participants use their AAC systems and other communication methods in everyday life at home and in the community.

    This may include:

    • Supporting the practical use of AAC systems

    • Helping with communication during daily routines and activities

    • Building confidence using communication tools in different settings

    • Supporting consistent communication across home, community, and support networks. This support focuses on the implementation and functional use of AAC, not assessment or clinical intervention.

  • We deliver small group-based supports that provide opportunities for participants to practice communication and participation in a supported environment.

    Programs may focus on:

    • Using AAC in social and group settings

    • Supporting communication interaction with friends, families and the community

    • AAC conversations that flow back and forth in real time

    • Building confidence in functional communication

  • Disability Support Work (Communication-Focused)

We provide disability support work to assist participants with everyday activities, community access, and in-home support, in line with their NDIS goals and support plans.

    This may include:

    • Support with daily living activities in the home

    • Assistance to access and participate in community activities

    • Support to attend appointments, programs, and social activities

    • Help with building routines and participating in everyday tasks

    • Creating opportunities for functional communication during daily activities

    • Supporting the use of AAC and communication strategies in real-life settings

Our support is delivered in a way that encourages independence, participation, and choice, and is tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals.
